Dean of Students

Welcome to the Dean of Students Unit

A dedicated space where inclusivity, accountability, and community form the foundation of our mission. Our primary aim is to provide unwavering support to foster the growth and learning of every student we serve.

The DOS Unit supports student learning and growth through:
  • Inclusivity: A diverse and inclusive community is a strong community. We are committed to celebrating the diversity of our students' identities, experiences, and perspectives.
  • Accountability: We believe in empowering students to take responsibility for their actions, decisions, wellness, and academic pursuits. We are committed to holding ourselves accountable for our actions, and to holding our community responsible for individual and collective actions.
  • Community: Community is essential to student success. We are committed to building and supporting communities where students can thrive academically, personally, and socially, ensuring that everyone feels a sense of belonging within our institution.

Preparing students for the complexities of an increasingly diverse and sometimes divided world is a core focus. We equip students with the knowledge, skills, and empathy necessary to navigate the intricacies of a global society. By instilling values of understanding, respect, and open dialogue, we aim to foster an environment of mutual respect and cooperation, preparing our students to become compassionate and informed citizens.

We invite you to engage with us, to be a part of our community, and to embrace the opportunities for growth and learning that the Dean of Students Unit provides. Together, let us strive to create a world where every student has access to resources and is empowered to thrive, contribute, and make a positive impact.

We want everyone to feel comfortable walking in or calling our office and asking questions. We truly care about every student at WCU and appreciate every moment we get with each of you. Our office is in HFR 227, do not hesitate to stop by for support or a quick conversation. We take great pride in the success of our students and providing them with resources to navigate college.
